Hi Martin,

Thank you Martin for the useful and prompt feedback.

Regarding your comment on, “The ECHONET Profile specifies in section 3.7.2 note *4: “Only 100kbps is mandatory for single-hop smart meter-HEMS network. 50kbps is optional.”
As ECHONET profile specification describes only 100 kbps be mandatory for only single-hop HEMS network; however for single-hop home network and for ECHONET Lite over non IP, both 50 kbps and 100 kbps are being specified as mandatory. To address this, we can include a note at the bottom of Table 2 to say, 50 kbps is kept optional for ECHONET single-hop smart meter-HEMS network.

Regarding, “In table 2 the channel spacing is stated as MHz (100, 200,…), it should be probably kHz.”, it was typo indeed, I will change that to KHz. Thanks for catching that.

We will finalize these comments during the next week PHYWG call.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Regards,
Kunal

Dear All WG members,

This frequency band document is great.

I have one question:
The ECHONET Profile specifies in section 3.7.2 note *4: “Only 100kbps is mandatory for single-hop smart meter-HEMS network. 50kbps is optional.”
According to the new frequency band document the PHY modes #1 and #2 (50 and 100kbps) are mandatory for all Wi-SUN devices (incl. those operating in Japan).

This seems to me conflicting (for Japan HEMS, i.e. route B).
How do you plan to solve this ?

BTW: In table 2 the channel spacing is stated as MHz (100, 200,…), it should be probably kHz.

Best regards,

Subject: [wi-sun phywg] Updated Wi-SUN Regional Frequency Band document Uploaded for Review

Dear All WG members,

PHYWG has received multiple comments/ feedback on the PHY regional frequency bands document and also received a request to include new frequency bands that are not specified in the previous version of the document.

The document has been updated to incorporate all the received comments, including the addition of new frequency bands. All the changes have been marked in RED with track changes on.

As this document will be referenced in all Wi-SUN profile specifications for using any of the regional frequency bands, so I would strongly encourage all WGs to review the updated document and prepare with any comments, feedback or suggestions.

I am planning to schedule a PHYWG call for next week to discuss any comments or suggestion regarding this document. Stay tune for the call details and agenda items for next week call.

The document is posted on Wi-SUN ftp PHYWG folder,
https://dms.wi-sun.org/htcomnet/Handlers/Download.ashx?action=download&file=PHYWG%2FRegional%20Frequency%20Bands%2F20150727-PHY-Wi-SUN%20Regional%20Frequency%20Bands-0V11.docx

Please let me know of any comments.

Regards,
Kunal Shah
PHYWG Chair
